The more I think about it, the more this has become clear, art is the one thing that I truly enjoy doing. Even if everybody says "art is great, but it won't get you a job to pay the bills", I have to at least try it. Even if I end up failing, I will know at least I tried and there's nothing to regret.
It isn't about what you're most good at, but what you want to do the most that matters. In highschool, I had a friend who was extremely smart, whenever the school had math competitions his name would always be at the top. Everyone thought he was going to be an engineer, he had like a 99% average and could easily get into the most prestigious engineer/science programmes. But instead, he decided to go into music. I asked him why, he told me:
"Imagine when I'm 40, and still haven't done what I wanted to do, how sad would that be? I don't want to become one of those people."
I can't not try just because I'm afraid of failing. This is a rather big decision, I had a good talk with my mom last night and I'm very glad that she supports me on it.
(but first I gotta study for linguistics exam or else I'll srsly die tmr)
